The European Cognitive Ageing Society has the following aims:
Promoting research in the domain of cognitive ageing, and related research fields, in particular with regard to the collaboration and exchange of information, networking and joint grant application between investigators in Europe. Cognition is defined by the Society in the broadest sense, including sensory, cognitive, motor and emotional aspects, as well as human and animal studies. The areas of interest cover fundamental and applied research, in particular clinical research. The methods include behavioral and neuroscience methods.
- The society will pursue these aims by, amongst others, organizing biannual conferences, workshops, seminars, summer schools for young scientists, and by contacting public, societal and political institutions.
- The society will periodically circulate a web-based newsletter.
- The society cannot share profit among its members.
- The society can stipulate rights on behalf of its members. The society can claim rights and remunerations with regard to one of its members, unless this member is against such actions.
